Frequently Asked Questions & Strategy Guide
Official gameplay mechanics, economy rules, damage interactions, commands, and competitive ranking criteria for Legion TD 1.8.
ECONOMY & WORKERSWhat is the Maximum Economy cap and how does worker scaling work?
Legion TD 1.8 features strict, balanced economic limits:
Max Economy Cap: Exactly 25 Workers / 4 Lumber Upgrades / 15 Swift Workers.
Lumber Upgrades: Can be researched up to 4 times. Each level increases the amount of lumber your workers carry by +2.
Food Upgrades: Each food upgrade increases your unit food capacity by +8 (starting from 15 to 23, 31, etc.).
King Upgrades: Upgrades to the King's Attack Damage, Maximum Life, or Health Regeneration cost 80 lumber and grant +3 permanent Income per upgrade.
Swift Workers: The final late-game worker tier (up to 15 swift workers maximum) that harvests wood at maximum velocity.
LANING & ARMORWhat is the difference between Lane Build and Mid Build?
Building position directly alters incoming creep and summon defenses:
Lane Build: Gives -1 Armor to all incoming creeps and sent spawns on your side, making them take more damage from your defense.
Mid Build: Gives +1 Armor to creeps and summons sent to the middle lane.
Strategic Placement: Placing tanky units forward while keeping ranged DPS protected prevents enemy summons from wiping your damage dealers prematurely.
WAVES & BOSSESHow many rounds are there and which waves spawn Bosses?
The main match consists of 36 standard waves, followed by an infinite bonus arena:
Quad-Boss Waves: Exactly 4 bosses spawn simultaneously on waves 10, 20, 30, 34, and 35. Special achievements reward defeating all 4 bosses on each of these waves.
PvP Mode Boss Waves: In PvP mode, only boss waves spawn (10, 20, 30, 31, 32, 34, 35) with 3× creep army size.
Arena / Bonus Survival: If teams survive round 36, the game enters the bonus survival phase where all remaining fighters gather in the central arena to fight for ultimate survival.
SECRET BOSSESWhen do Darth Maul, Lord Vader, Darth Revan, and Soggodon spawn?
During Bonus Survival (past Wave 36), legendary raid bosses enter the battlefield:
Round 37 (Bonus Round 1): 1 Soggodon (38,500 HP, 50 armor, 1,000–1,500 chaos damage) + 3 Iron Giants of each kind (Guillotine, Sword, Rifle) per lane instead of Old Leviathans.
Round 40+ (After Bonus Round 4):Darth Maul attacks. The player who lands the killing blow unlocks the exclusive Darth Maul achievement.
Round 43+ (After Bonus Round 7):Lord Vader arrives (75,000 HP, 29 armor, and a 10,000 mana Mana Shield absorbing 70% incoming damage at 1 mana per HP).
Round 46+ (After Bonus Round 10):Darth Revan (immune to all stuns, magic, and movement slows) and the Ancient Leviathan spawn. Defeating either awards team-wide achievements.
SUMMONS & AUTOSENDHow does Autosend and No Saving (-ns) function?
Offensive summons can be sent manually or managed through the builder's built-in Autosend toggle:
Autosend Logic: Sends summons tailored to the incoming wave. Spawns Blood Orcs / Ghouls on melee waves, and Bowmen / Chariots on ranged waves (4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 29, 32–36) and slow waves (2, 9).
Default State: Autosend starts ON in Duo games, and starts OFF in standard 4v4 games (toggleable on your builder).
No Saving (-ns): Imposes a lumber reserve cap so players cannot hoard game-breaking amounts of lumber without sending.
Kraken Feats: Sending a Kraken by rounds 19 down to 10 advances race mastery tiers. Slaying 20 Krakens in a single round unlocks an exclusive achievement.
KING & LEAKSWhat happens on leaks, uneven teams, or when attacking the King in PvP?
Core rules governing the center court and king engagements:
Creep Leaks: Unkilled creeps enter the King court. The opposing team receives immediate gold bounty for every unit that leaks past your defense.
Uneven Teams Handicap: If teams are uneven, the larger team's summons are automatically weakened by -10% life and damage per extra player (4v3 is -10%, 4v2 is -20%, 4v1 is -30%). Normal strength restores if teams equalize.
PvP Worker Reward: In PvP mode, as soon as any unit damages the enemy King, EVERY player on your team receives +1 free Worker trained directly at your Town (capped at once per round; units that reached the King award half bounty on death).
COMMANDSWhat are the essential in-game chat commands in LTD 1.8?
Type these directly into Warcraft III chat during a match:
Classical Hybrid (Race 18): Ranked games played with Classical Hybrid are logged independently as Race #18 with its own dedicated profile wins, best wave, and best income.
Banned from Ranked: Human and Lizard cannot be picked or rolled in ranked games (restricted to FUN mode only).
Draft Modes: SD (Single Draft), OR (One Random), AR (All Random), RD (Random Draft), and FR (Fast Random) only draw from the 16 standard ranked races.
2003 ACHIEVEMENTSHow are the 2,003 Achievement Points and 200 Circle Models calculated?
Total Achievement Points cap at exactly 2,003 Points:
Point Formula:Points = Race Mastery Tiers (1 pt each) + Global Milestones (×8 pts) + Special & Boss Feats (×18 pts).
Global Milestones (352 pts): 44 career tiers (8 pts each) across Games, Wins, King Ups, Value, Wave, Kills, Lumber, and Income Gold.
Special Feats (342 pts): 19 feats (18 pts each) including 0-value win, king stationary win, 0-leak wave 36, 0-income wave 36, and secret boss kills. Re-earning feats 10× awards Red Mastery (+1 pt); 50× awards Gold Mastery (+1 pt).
200 Circle Models: Every 10 points (0.5% progress), your in-game player circle upgrades to a new fighter strictly ordered by gold value—from a 20g Ent up to THE MOUNTAIN at 8,420 gold.
LADDER & 1000 ELOHow do ratings, early leaves, and team balance work?
Ratings start at 1000 Elo across four distinct ladders:
Four Ladders: Main Ranked `[Elo]`, `[1v1 Elo]`, `[PvP Elo]`, and `[Double Build Elo]` maintain independent ratings.
Wave 2 Leaver Penalty: From Wave 2 onward, leaving a match automatically books a loss in advance, deducts Elo rating, logs a leave, and resets your active win streak.
Wave 3 Early Win: If all opponents leave the match from Round 3 onwards, your team's win and Elo are recorded immediately without needing to kill the king.
Balance Shuffle (900 Elo Rule): During start-of-game balance shuffles, players with fewer than 10 ranked games are calculated at 900 Elo instead of 1000 to prevent fresh accounts from skewing team balance.
Hold Score: Deep runs reward your profile (+1% Hold score for every two 'No Leak Wave 20' up to 17%, and +1% for every two 'No Leak Wave 25' up to 8%, capped at 125).
LOBBY RADARHow do Stale Lobby tags and Starred (★) VIP Host Chimes function?
Our live web radar polls active Battle.net lobbies every 30 seconds:
Stale Lobby Warning: Lobbies are flagged as STALE if a host sits alone (1/10 slots) for over 35 minutes, or if an open lobby receives no new player joins for 20 continuous minutes. Joining the game immediately un-stales the room and restores active radar glow.
VIP Host Star (★): Clicking the star icon next to any host name saves them to your browser VIP list. Whenever that host opens a new lobby, the web page fires a distinctive Web Audio synthesizer chime, allowing you to alt-tab without missing the game.
TOURNAMENTSHow do monthly tournament championships and Best-of-3 brackets work?
Official monthly tournaments are hosted across 1v1, 2v2, and 4v4 formats on the Tournaments page:
Best of 3 Format: All elimination brackets (Round of 16 onward) are played Best of 3.
Title Archiving: Winners are permanently recorded in the All-Time Champions Hall of Fame and receive golden [👑 CHAMP] callout badges next to their BattleTag in global rankings.
Free Entry: Registration is completely open to all ranked players through the website or the official community Discord bot.
